Broke the cycle of copy pasting and built true understanding

“The depth I’ve gained has already gotten me into real interview loops with studios I want to work for!”

Kyle’s final project in the Blueprint / Performance Module

Before Hard-Edge, I kept running into a wall with game job postings.

I knew my way around Unreal Engine, but only on a surface level.

Whenever I tried building complex shaders or editor tools, I was basically just tutorial-hopping, copy-pasting nodes, and hoping things worked without truly understanding why.

I was constantly stuck working around my own knowledge gaps rather than actually controlling what I was building. Learning from Filipe completely broke that cycle.

Hard-Edge forced me to slow down and actually learn how Unreal works under the hood.

From rendering pipelines to complex shaders and performance profiling.

Now, I don't have to guess or rely on hoping other people have figured out the same things before me. When I run into a tough technical problem, I actually have the framework and confidence to figure it out on my own. The payoff has been incredible.

Even though I haven't finished the program yet, the depth I’ve gained has already gotten me into real interview loops with studios I want to work for.

If you want to move past tinkering and actually understand technical art at an industry level, I can't recommend Hard-Edge enough.
